Client: One Great Vegan

Role: Creative Director & Co-Founder

Project goal: One Great Vegan is a health and wellness brand that focuses on teaching people how to create healthy, colorful recipes through music and singing. As a co-founder and creative director of the brand, I was tasked with designing and developing the entire brand from top to bottom, including everything from the logo, brand guidelines, and blog website to product design, packaging, videography, and photography.

My approach to the One Great Vegan brand was to create a colorful and vibrant visual identity that reflected the brand's focus on health and wellness. I started with helping Gabrielle come up with the name. I knew that because her initials are GR, it’s a food brand, and GR+EAT makes “GREAT”, the word great had to be involved in the brand name some how. We searched for names that were available on all platforms without having to add ugly underscores or numbers to the end, and we landed on One Great Vegan. The concept was that “All it takes is one great vegan to make a difference.”

Once we had the domain names purchased, and the social media handles secured, I got started with the logo, using a combination of a bold, sans-serif font for “GR” and delicate italic serif for “eat” with a multi-layered that reflected the brand's fun and upbeat personality.

From there, I created a comprehensive set of brand guidelines that outlined everything from the brand's color palette and typography to its tone of voice and messaging. This allowed the brand to maintain consistency across all its platforms and materials.

Next, I designed and developed a blog website that was easy to navigate and showcased the brand's content in an engaging and visually appealing way. I used bright colors and high-quality photography to bring the brand to life and ensure that it stood out in a crowded digital space.

For the product design and packaging, I took a similar approach, using bold colors and playful graphics to create a cohesive visual identity across all the brand's products. I also created product labels that were easy to read and understand, with clear information about the ingredients and nutritional information.

Finally, I handled the videography and photography for the brand, creating eye-catching and visually appealing content that showcased the brand's fun and energetic personality. For photo and video, I primarily used my Sony a7iii and a combination of After Effects and Final Cut Pro to create content that was both informative, engaging, and entertaining.

SOLUtion:

The One Great Vegan brand has been a huge success, thanks in part to the comprehensive visual identity that I developed. The brand has garnered a loyal following on social media and has been featured in major publications like Forbes and Thrive Global. With its colorful and vibrant visual identity, One Great Vegan has become synonymous with health and wellness, and continues to inspire people to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
