Why We're Making THIS FILM

We want Blackout to be more than just an entertaining film. We hope it's a conversation starter about mental health in urban communities, an issue too often cloaked in silence. In the U.S., over 16% of African Americans report experiencing mental illness - a staggering 7 million people. This film is a stark reminder of the potential consequences of untreated mental health issues, particularly stemming from childhood trauma.
